We’re hiring a Claims Operations Supervisor in Columbus, OH

The role: As Claims Operations Specialist Supervisor, you’ll play a critical role in enforcing the fundamental fairness on which our company was founded. You’ll be supporting the one of the largest teams within the company and allowing them to be highly effective in their roles. The Claims Operations Supervisor will manage a team of Operations Specialists responsible for various tasks that support our claims team including document distribution, dispatching to partners, creating reports, corresponding with customers and other insurance carriers, as well as other various projects as needed.

Available schedules: This is a full-time position with expected working hours of Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm (EST) in Columbus, OH.  

Responsibilities:

  • Address escalated general claims inquiries via phone, email, etc and triage appropriately
  • Maintain documentation and resource guides for established workflows
  • Train and onboard new team members as well as retraining current team when necessary
  • Coordinate schedules
  • Understand processes and make suggestions for process improvement
  • Observes and reviews team’s performance and identifies areas of opportunity
  • Supports claims team with various projects and duties and provide ad hoc assistance as needed

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1-3 years in a supervisor role - working with direct reports to train and develop their skills
  • Successful history of smart time management, multi-tasking and customer-facing communication
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
  • High sense of professionalism while remaining empathetic
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to approach problems with an open mind
  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively in a matrixed environment
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently and effectively prioritize work
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and quickly adapt when changes occur

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • 1+ years of experience in an office environment
  • 1+ years of experience in a claims role
