We’re hiring a Senior Financial Analyst in Columbus, OH

The position: The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Director of Finance and will frequently interact with our CFO and CEO and other key business leaders. Our ideal candidate is detail oriented, comfortable communicating actionable insights from large amounts of data, and able to act as a key resource to our business leaders to identify and assess short and long-term opportunities for improved financial performance and strategic decision making.While hiring, we take our time to make sure we find true alignment and hire the very best. Key Responsibilities

  • Developing a deep understanding of the company and business processes including per unit economics.
  • Performing financial analysis and providing support to decision making processes, including forming strategic opinions and defending them with management.
  • Maintaining complex financial models and databases.
  • Providing monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts based on insurance industry-related operating and risk based capital metrics.
  • Developing industry specific pro formas and metrics
  • Conducting scenario and sensitivity analysis based on macro and micro factors highlighting key drivers of growth and profit.
  • Highlighting key financial and non-financial risks.
  • Supporting annual budget process and assisting with budget/forecast versus actual analysis.
  • Preparing business reviews.
  • Supporting month-end validation and financial close processes.
  • Performs ad hoc analysis as requested by CEO or CFO.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field
  • A minimum of 4+ years of work experience in an analytic role, preferably in a FinTech environment (insurance or banking)
  • Preferred experience with business intelligence/analytics software, such as Tableau, Power BI, etc. to distinguish patterns and recognize trends and create insightful visualizations for senior management.
  • Good understanding of basic statistics and experience with data mining/analysis is preferred.
  • Experience doing scenario and simulation analysis to forecast a possible range of outcomes.
  • Highly analytical, with proven ability in data-intensive financial analysis
  • Likes complex puzzles and solving complex problems
  • Strong communication, analytical, teamwork and presentation skills
