We’re hiring an Information Technology Generalist - Claims Support in Columbus, OH

The role:   As a Claims IT Support, you’ll support one of the largest teams within the company, ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies. You’ll be asked to push the boundaries of what’s required and to think critically as to what our customers want and how that best aligns with our product. Our goal is to leverage technology, data, and a team of highly talented people to build a claims experience that is recognized as #1 in the industry.

Available schedules: This is a full-time position with expected working hours of Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm (EST) in Columbus, OH.  

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of existing claims system and vendors utilized by the claims team for day-to-day work
  • Acts as ‘Tier-1’ technical support for end users, escalating questions regarding the functionality of internal applications to the engineering team on a case-by-case basis
  • Under minimal direction, provides technical support to end-users for client-side applicationsIdentifies, locates, isolates, and resolves or repairs problems within scope of specialty - escalates as neededIdentifies technology trends and provides reports/ recommendations to senior management for future technology needs/bug reporting and equipment needs of the team
  • Resolves problems which have no documented solutions by drawing on past experiences and training
  • Assist training team to develop user guides and document/address common issuesCreate or use an existing ticketing system to support and resolve technical issues for local and remote users
  • Establish fixes for common issues to limit the number of tickets and downtime for end-users and works to develop a ‘knowledge base’ of these issues
  • May interact with network services, software developers, product operations and/or vendors to re-establish service and/or identify and resolve problems
  • Develop onboarding checklist to allow for advance setup of technical equipment and software/application needs of the new hire
  • Seeks feedback from new hires on the equipment and setups (local and remote) and responds accordingly
  • Maintain inventory of equipment for Claims department and identify needs as they develop
  • Works with remote teams to understand equipment needs offsite
  • Assists in equipment exchanges when necessary
  • Act as systems access admin for all claims-specific applications
  • Help to identify future IT support needs and build out a support team

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent
  • Comfortable working on both Mac and PC platforms Troubleshooting
  • Problem-solving
  • Training and mentoring
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, work with a sense of urgency and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and quickly adapt when changes occur

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • 1+ years of experience in an office environment
  • 1+ years of experience in an IT/help desk role
