As an Identity Management Specialist, you’ll support Root’s identity management tools, workflows, and audits. You’ll be responsible for auditing all SaaS products, and will work closely with the Identity Management Team to implement and maintain single-sign-on (SSO) and Okta with various software applications. In this role, you will support and maintain enterprise-wide SaaS tools, discover and document unknown software, and audit role-level access to all applications. This role will work closely with the Internal Controls, IT, Information Security, and Finance Teams to ensure we remain compliant with all external regulators. We’re looking for someone who is knowledgeable regarding programmatic provisioning mechanisms, is detail-oriented, and has a passion for automating wherever possible to create efficient, accurate workflows in a fast-paced work environment. Our goal is to leverage technology, data, and a team of highly talented people to build an insurance and employee experience that is recognized as #1 in the industry.

What you'll be doing.

  • Audit of all SaaS products currently in use by Root; meet with engineers, team leads, and executive assistants to document what tools are utilized on their respective teams
  • Discovery of untracked software through various means; utilizing discovery tools and auditing of financial records/vendor lists to constantly update the comprehensive list of software currently in use
  • Removal of unauthorized/terminated users from all systems and generating change reports
  • Audit access to SaaS programs based on role and adjusting access consistent with role, job duty, and workflow changes
  • Partner with Security Engineering for formal application access reviews regularly
  • Assist the Information Security team with SSO and Okta implementations for various SaaS applications and collaborate on additional priorities as determined by audit results and business needs
  • Support the iteration of automated workflows for software provisioning/deprovisioning, access control, and single-sign-on in collaboration with the Identity Management Team
  • Develop a deep understanding of the mechanisms surrounding provisioning/deprovisioning of all applicable software systems in use at Root
  • Support and maintain SaaS and enterprise-wide applications associated with the collection, retrieval, accessibility, and usage of data for internal department planning, activities, and data classification
  • Collaborate with managers of departments to audit and provide guidance on licensing usage
  • Serve as a subject matter expert regarding what automation and programmatic tooling is available, and demonstrate a bias towards them as opposed to manual processes; identifying gaps in identity and access management tooling and advise on improvements
  • Assist external and internal auditors with evidence collection and communicate status to internal stakeholders

What we’re looking for.

  • 2 - 4+ years in a provisioning and/or help desk role with 1 + years in an information security role; experience utilizing Okta is preferred
  • CompTIA Security+ certificates or other certifying agencies strongly preferred
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally and a demonstrated ability to identify data owners and key stakeholders across department lines
  • A developed understanding of the mechanisms surrounding provisioning/deprovisioning, and experience administering them; our largest systems include Okta and Workday
  • A bias towards automation and programmatic workflows over manual processes; specifically for access control and SSO processes
  • An understanding regarding what tooling is available and utilize tooling to automate access control and single-sign-on
  • Must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, and excel in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, work with a sense of urgency and have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and quickly adapt when changes occur
