We’re hiring a Customer Service Representative: M&F Part-Time Flexible Schedule in Columbus, OH

Position: At Root, the customer is at the heart of all we do. Our customer service team is the gateway to our customers and directly shapes both our customer experience and the product we’re building. We’re looking to add representatives to our Customer Service Team who will be instrumental in continually improving the customers' experience. The ideal candidate will exemplify Root’s long term mission for best in class customer support. We’re looking to grow our customer service team with talented individuals who can:

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a best in class customer experience by promptly responding to customer inquiries via email and phone
  • Leverage internal tools to research and resolve customer requests thoroughly and accurately 
  • Provide recommendations to improve internal dashboards and the product based on interactions with customers 
  • Proactively reach out to customers to gather continuous feedback 

Requirements

  • Prior customer service and/or insurance industry related experience 
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to be timely, patient, and attentive to customer needs and requests 
  • Friendly disposition with natural ability to read customers and use positive language in customer correspondence 
  • Willing to go the extra mile attitude 
  • Willingness to learn and ability to gain deep knowledge of the insurance product and smartphone app 
  • Detail oriented with affinity for multi-tasking 
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), scheduling tools (Gmail), and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) 
  • Compensation: $17.00/ hr at our Easton Location.

  • Schedule: The hours of this role are flexible! We’re looking to hire for our peak call volume on Mondays and Fridays with a shift that works for you!

  • Minimum Shift Requirements: 
  • Minimum shift duration: 5 hours 
  • Maximum shift duration: 10.5 hours
  • Shift must cover 12pm-2pm 
  • Shift must be within our operating hours: 9am-8pm 
  • Available to work on both Mondays and Fridays

  • Example Shifts:
  • M/F: 9am-3:30pm
  • M/F: 9:30am-8pm
  • M/F: 12pm-8pm
