The Position:
We are seeking an innovative, data-driven Marketing leader to accelerate growth within our partnerships business. In this role, you will work with the cross-functional team and our partners to define compelling consumer experiences and deliver integrated marketing strategies that drive new customer acquisition and funnel conversion. You will develop B2C and B2B strategies to help unlock incremental opportunity for Root, fueling continued rapid growth of the business. This role is inherently cross-functional, working closely with Business Development, Product, Creative, and the rest of the Marketing team - as well as external partners. You will need outstanding marketing and communication skills, with a proven ability to design and deliver innovative cross-channel marketing programs, as well as build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders.

Reports to: VP, Integrated Marketing with a dotted line to VP, Business Development

Key Responsibilities

  • Support New Business Pitches: Collaborate on proposed value propositions, customer experiences and launch marketing strategies that are aligned with the partner’s brand and customers, as well as Root’s business objectives.
  • Design and Implement Cross-Channel Marketing Programs: Work closely with internal business teams and partners to develop and execute end-to-end, integrated marketing campaigns within Root and Partner channels that deliver on aggressive growth goals.
  • Scale Successful Programs: Identify opportunities and a path to rapidly scaling partnerships that meet performance targets. Seamlessly work across partner verticals including OEMs, Affiliates, and Emerging Tech opportunities.
  • Champion Efficiency: Assess and prioritize strategy and implementation plans, balancing customer, partner and Root benefits with cost and resource needs.
  • Optimize Performance: Establish marketing KPIs for each program and provide recommendations to the cross-functional team on opportunities to improve business performance over the life of the partnership.
  • Innovate: Analyze and synthesize market, company, and customer data alongside partner strategies to identify new opportunities and audiences within new and existing partners. Act as the Marketing SME on the integrated Partnerships team, sharing best practices and making data-driven, brand-aligned recommendations to maximize performance.
  • Build a Best-in-Class Partnership Marketing Team: As need arises, build and deliver a talent roadmap to support growth of Partnership efforts.

Desired Skills and Mindset

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or related field. MBA or graduate degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience scaling partner-driven customer acquisition via the development and execution of multi-channel, B2C & B2B marketing strategies. Comfortable getting your hands dirty and implementing programs from start-to-finish, including planning, execution, and data-driven optimization.
  • Proven expertise with designing highly effective (and efficient) integrated campaigns that span digital and traditional marketing channels, including multiple advertising channels, affiliates, PR, content, and point-of-sale.
  • Expert collaborator and leader who thrives in cross-functional/matrixed environments. Experience working with in-house creative teams, with an ability to translate business marketing plans into clear and actionable creative requests.
  • Passionate about driving business results, able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and navigate changing priorities (and timelines) while delivering excellent work.
