We’re hiring a Claims Support Representative in Columbus, OH

The Position
At Root, the customer is at the heart of all we do. Our customer service team is the gateway to our customers and directly shapes both our customer experience and the product we’re building. We’re looking to add talented individuals to our Customer Service Team who will be instrumental in continually improving the customers' claims experience. The ideal candidate will exemplify Root’s long-term mission for best-in-class customer support.

Reports to Claims Support Supervisor

Compensation: $17.00/ hr

Eastern Time shifts: 12:00pm - 8:30pm

5% shift differential for hours worked at 5:30 pm

What you’ll be doing.

  • Deliver a best in class experience by promptly responding to claim inquiries via phone and email
  • Leverage internal tools and resources to research and resolve claims support requests thoroughly and accurately
  • Set accurate follow-ups for handling adjusters regarding support requests
  • Complete appropriate claims dashboard and call documentation for each contact
  • Capture and enter correct claims information for first notices of loss
  • Provide recommendations to improve internal dashboards and the product based on interactions with customers
  • Meet and exceed monthly goals assigned by the business unit

What we’re looking for.

  • 6-12 months prior insurance or call center experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written/verbal communication
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be timely, patient, and attentive to the needs and requests of callers
  • Willing to go the extra mile attitude
  • Willingness and ability to deepen knowledge of insurance products
  • Detail-oriented with an affinity for multi-tasking
