We’re hiring a Marketing Operations Specialist in Columbus, OH

Root is seeking a Marketing Operations Specialist to build and lead a department-wide budget management process, support marketing compliance efforts, and facilitate the launch of new tools. You will play a pivotal role in helping the Marketing team achieve aggressive demand generation and conversion goals. The ideal candidate is focused, detailed-oriented, and excited to take on responsibility for core processes supporting a growing Marketing organization.

Reports to: Sr Manager, Marketing Innovation

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with accounting and finance teams to manage, track and forecast marketing/creative team budgets. Document and communicate reasons for budget variance to forecast.
  • Ensure marketing regulation compliance; maintain advertising compliance logs as needed.
  • Maintain documentation on marketing tech stack and roadmap. Work closely with cross-functional managers to gather requirements for development and enhancement of tools and applications.
  • Monitor marketing contracts, utilization and expenditures. Develop and lead process to ensure that renewals are fully reviewed and (re)negotiated as required.
  • Partner with marketing leaders to maintain the Integrated Marketing calendar; create and lead process to ensure creative kickoff materials are high quality and delivered on time.
  • Support team in communicating campaign performance and recommendations to leadership; partner with marketing analyst, campaign and creative leads, and consumer insights to synthesize findings into a cohesive report.

Desired Skills and Mindset

  • 1-3 years of proven experience in a detail-oriented role; experience managing a budget preferred
  • Comfortable with the use of Microsoft Office and Google software, especially Excel/Google Sheets
  • Works independently with exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, with a collaborative mindset and a positive attitude
  • Maintains a do-what-it-takes attitude and enjoys working in a fast-paced working environment
