We’re hiring an Information Technology Generalist in Columbus, OH

We created a mobile car insurance app, and we changed the industry in the process.

The IT Generalist role is a very impactful role to the entire organization. This person is responsible for creating an environment where Root employees can do their best work and will assist the Employee Technology Manager with on-boarding new employees, tracking inventory, and helping employees troubleshoot IT issues.


  • Respond to inbound troubleshooting ‘tickets’ through various mediums; Slack messaging, email and/or other ticketing systems
  • Respond to requests and provide basic IT equipment (laptop chargers, dongles, adapters) for employees 
  • Troubleshoot issues with office technology equipment (Multifunction printers, postage machines, cafe/soundstage, smart TV’s, and executive board room tech).
  • Basic assistance with troubleshooting and configuring employee computers (‘no power’ situations, printer configuration, G-Suite software troubleshooting, Slack troubleshooting, Microsoft Office troubleshooting, peripheral set up and troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Weekly desk setup and assistance with on-boarding of new employees.
  • Maintain tracking and organization of IT inventory.
  • Regular project coordination with IT and Facilities managers.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all employees requesting assistance
  • High attention to detail
  • Special projects as assigned
