We’re hiring a Director of HR in Columbus, OH

The position: We’re looking for a senior human resources leader to spearhead the evolution of our HR infrastructure with an emphasis on employer compliance and employee relations. This individual will be expected to set the strategy for how we scale our HR practices as we grow the company in team size and locations.

Reports to: VP of People

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the compliance of our employee handbook
  • Establish compliant employer practices in states where we expand our employee base
  • Lead our current team (Payroll Manager, Director of Benefits, and Onboarding Specialist) in their areas of responsibilities
  • Strengthen and manage the company’s yearly performance review process in collaboration with the broader People Team and other internal folks
  • Provide guidance on employee relations issues, organizational structure, workforce planning, and other HR initiatives
  • Conduct all employee relations investigations
  • Oversee work authorization status and employer-sponsored visa programs

Requirements:

  • Knowledge on state and federal employment laws - major focus on Ohio, Arizona, Texas, and California
  • Experience handling employee relations issues
  • Experience managing HRIS systems - experience with Paylocity a plus
  • PHR/SPHR certification
  • Proven collaborator experience in scaling into new job markets across multiple states
  • 8+ years in the HR field
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience
