Compliance Analyst

The position.

Root is looking for a Compliance Analyst with a background in insurance compliance or operations to partner with our fastest growing teams to re-enforce the fundamental value on which our company was founded; fairness. As part of the Compliance Team, you’ll engage with the Regulatory, Product, Engineering, Underwriting, Information Security, and Pricing teams as a compliance partner and make recommendations for enhanced compliance workflows, processes, and procedures. This role will support Market Conduct Exams and assist in the preparation of Root’s annual reporting initiatives. We’re searching for a critical thinker who is detail-oriented and eager to help build new processes. The ideal candidate enjoys the pursuit of solving complex problems in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of a high-growth organization.

Reports to: Compliance Manager

What you will be doing.

• Partner with Root’s Regulatory, Product, Engineering, Underwriting, Information Security, and Pricing teams to ensure internal processes and procedures are compliant, monitored, and iterated accordingly.
• Assist with the intake, communication, and implementation of evolving market regulatory requirements to ensure business compliance.
• Assist in the preparation of Root’s Market Conduct Annual Statement reporting by working with internal partners throughout the year to improve data accuracy and reduce preparation effort.
• Supports Market Conduct Exams including the preparation of requested information, reporting, engagement with examiners, and the implementation of corrective action items.
• Acts as Compliance subject matter expert to internal partners.
• Create reports and analyzes data to identify solutions that meet business goals.
• Assist with company-wide initiatives to sustain and grow the culture of compliance at Root.

What you should have.

• 2-3 years of compliance or operations experience, preferably in the P&C insurance industry.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with other areas of the business with experience building engaged professional partnerships.
• Analytical mindset, with strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Great attention to detail.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize work and thrive in a collaborative environment.
