Sales Development Representative (SDR)

The Position

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for identifying and creating new qualified sales opportunities for the Root Enterprise Sales Team. As part of the lead generation team, the SDR manages inside sales activities including inbound lead activity, qualifying active buying interest and developing opportunities in prospect accounts.

The SDR will also coordinate with the Root Enterprise Leadership and sales team to determine the accounts that require research and prospecting activities to secure a sufficient flow of additional qualified opportunities. An implicit responsibility of the SDR is to conduct business dealings in a way that creates a superior prospect experience that will set the stage for effective sales follow-up, as well as future product sales.

What you'll do.

  • Prospect, educate, qualify, and develop sales-ready leads and opportunities from lead generation activities, inbound prospect leads, outbound calling, emailing, and networking into targeted accounts
  • Interact with prospects via telephone and email to uncover pain points, explain Root Enterprise’s platform, identify opportunities and generate interest
  • Utilize consultative approach to evaluate and understand customer’s business needs
  • Communicate Root Enterprises value proposition and tailor to prospect needs
  • Disseminate opportunities to appropriate sales representatives, educating reps as necessary about the opportunity and recommending appropriate follow-up action items
  • Successfully manage and overcome prospect objections
  • Become a trusted resource and develop relationships with prospects
  • Utilize Hubspot to keep track of prospective customers notes, deal stages, and key stakeholders related to the account 
  • Effectively communicate with Account Executives and cross-functional leadership of Root Enterprise and external executives
  • Ability to project manage small proof of concepts for our carrier partners. 

What we're looking for.

  • Experience interacting with prospects via telephone, email, and LinkedIn
  • Training in solution selling or similar consultative selling models a plus
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Be self-directed with an ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities and manage their time efficiently
  • Ability to develop relationships easily and be viewed as a trusted resource
  • Proactive attitude and quick aptitude for learning new methods, strategies, and technologies
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and do what it takes to deliver a high-quality result to the client
  • Innovative thinker who is constantly looking for a better way to do things and is willing to take measured risks to achieve the desired result
  • Auto Insurance experience and enterprise-level sales cycle exposure is a plus
