We’re hiring a Brand Team Admin in Columbus, OH

Root is a venture-backed tech company of nearly 400 and (mindfully) growing. In March of 2015, we set out to build an insurance solution that accomplished two things: 1) provided an unprecedented user experience and 2) leveraged modern data to more accurately predict risk. The product that we created, a mobile insurance app, allows us to fulfill both of these objectives.
We are looking for a passionate and energetic administrative assistant to support the Chief Brand Officer and her leadership team (total of 4 people). The ideal candidate is comfortable handling complex situations and juggling multiple responsibilities, and they remain calm even when those around them may not. They effortlessly balance long-term projects against immediate needs, and they are energized by continuously learning new skills. They demonstrate initiative and tenacity, and embrace flexibility in their work and day-to-day schedule. This position requires a team player with patience, a positive attitude, and a superior ability to work across supervisors and projects.

Reports to: Chief Brand Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Chief Brand Officer, VP Integrated Marketing, Executive Creative Director and VP Design
  • Manage their full calendars, including acting as a ‘gatekeeper’ for meeting requests, accepting/declining meeting invitations while independently managing conflicts, ensuring adequate preparation and travel time is allotted, ensuring meeting location is secured, and monitoring the frequency of regularly occurring meetings
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to scheduling requests and changes from internal and external partners, including facilitating ongoing communication with minimal supervision
  • Organize complex meetings involving cross-functional attendees, owning everything from calendar scheduling to securing a location to day-of administrative support
  • Provide additional ongoing support, including responding to ‘cold call’ emails, flagging priority follow-up as necessary, processing expense reports, arranging travel, and managing ad hoc tasks/projects as requested (and time allows)

Desired skills and mindset

  • At least 1 year of proven experience in an administratively focused role; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Please provide a business writing sample (cover letter, email, or other) with your application.
  • Comfortable with the use of all Microsoft Office and Google software, particularly Word/Google Docs and Excel/Google Sheets
  • Works independently with exceptional time management and prioritization skills
  • Detail oriented and strongly collaborative
  • Maintains a do-what-it-takes attitude and enjoys working in a fast-paced working environment
